The snickrz.com website has been forced down by the proper chocolate bar with all the vowels in it. Poke have put this up on the website to apologise to those still looking for some branding fun. Bit of a dig, don’t you think?!
If you do want to find out why, then go here, apparently there’s a lawsuit on the cards!

Also found this sight on Creativity Online that renders any word you want in the Snickers logo styleee.
So I went for

and finally

Have some snckz fun for yourself!
Obviously it is (hopefully) but slightly strange all the same.
Found these ads for a pregnancy test the other day on Brand Republic and they have a similar idea to one I did in my second year for Andrex Moist toilet paper (below). Fair enough theirs looks better, and they’ve pushed the idea further, and maybe it’s a bit less gross as it doesn’t involve people trying to look at their bums. But who knows any woman who can get their head up their own vagina?! The ads have almost gone so far into the ridiculous that I actually quite like them, even if they are slightly surreal and weird if you think about it too much.

Although obviously I prefer it being about poo!

(By the way these were done before I really knew much about advertising!)
Found this awesome music video for a band called the Raveonettes. Five bands were commissioned to write five songs based on five different colours: The Sound of Colour. The Raveonettes produced Black and White, and the video is directed by the award-winning designer Chris Do.
The result of this collaboration is a hauntingly beautiful sequence of black and white illustrations. Watch and be enthralled.
(A still from near the end)

Me and my creative partner Laura (www.lauraosborne.wordpress.com) are up and running, have been on 6 book crits in a week (more in depth on this to follow) and even have a website. Have a look www.hypereal.net. There’s not much on there at the moment, but we shall get it up and running properly soon.
Now I don’t normally like repeating things I have found on other blogs, but this is just sooo cool it needed mentioning. The fine people at Work Club are whom I am ripping off, but as I freely admit it, I’m sure I won’t go to blog hell!
They have discovered a website, by Bacolicio.us , that lets you fry some tasty looking bacon in front of any web page of your choosing. A bit like this http://bacolicio.us/http://watsonthinks.wordpress.com/. Makes me want bacon NOW!
(This is the example they give on their website which made me giggle http://bacolicio.us/http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vegetarianism)

Brilliant ad for Gatorade, made me laugh for ages. The quest for the Holy G. Shame about the Primark sunglasses!
Found this on Creativity online and it’s awesome. It’s a five minute sci-fi episode, but the amazing thing is that they made it for just $500! A bit gruesome, but impressive, especially considering the budget.
Better quality version on their www.purchasebrothers.com

A very interesting use of a CT scanner. Radiologyart is quite creepy! They have scanned Barbie dolls, toy elephants and even Maccy D’s! Apparently ‘this is a project dedicated to the deeper visualization of various objects that hold unique cultural importance in modern society’. Seems to me they’re just having some fun playing with a scanner, but does produce some interesting imagery. Who knew Barbie had knee joints!
